Mess card issued to Ray Curran aboard barracks barge APL-24, probably at the end of World War II. This APL (Auxiliary Personnel Lighter) was delivered to the Navy on 24 July 1945 and taken out of service in January 1947, so most likely Abbot’s crew was berthed there after arriving back in the United States, possibly after Abbot was decommissioned.
